As a teacher, I seek to help students learn how the American political system functions and how it can work better so they know what their role is in maintaining our democratic system. I seek to not only teach my students information about politics and political science, but also deeply engage them in the material, help them evaluate information critically, cultivate their writing skills, and give them hands-on experience with the practice of politics.
You can learn more about my teaching approach by downloading my teaching statement. I have also linked to sample syllabi for some of the courses I teach.
- Introduction to American Politics
- The American Congress
- Campaigns and Elections
- Polling and Surveys
- Political Engagement in State and Local Politics
Important note to current students: these syllabi are provided as examples only and are not fully up to date. For the most current version of the syllabus for your course, visit the course webpage at moodle.bucknell.edu.
